History

Our Founder
Sangeet Sudhakar Poojya Swami Vallabhdasji , a renowned personality in the world of Indian classical music has been the architect of Shreevallabh Shikshan Sangeet Ashram, a Registered Public trust under the Mumbai Public Trust Act, 1950 at Sion, Mumbai.

His deep interest in music from early childhood and his dispassion for worldly life, inspired him to dedicate himself to the Swaminarayan sect and don the saffron robe at a tender age. It also became his life's mission to serve God through music. For over two and a half decades he acquired training in the art of mridang, table and vocal music under great masters. The proficiency he achieved in these branches of Indian music led him to recreate the magical aura generated by his gurus wherever he performed. Beyond his musical passion, Swamiji also cherished the noble vision of education that would blend the best of Western education and traditional Indian values.

Our Establishment and Management

As a first step towards the realization of Swamiji's dream and his mission, he founded a Public Trust, namely, Shreevallabh Shikshan Sangeet Ashram at Sion in 1950. With its humble beginning as a music and education centre, this institution now manages many other institutions branching out of it, the Ashram is managing Shreevallabh Vividhalakshmi Vidhyalaya (Gujarati medium) , Shreevallabh Ashram English Medium School , Shreevallabh Sangeetalaya for Indian Classical Music and Dance Academy and a yoga centre. Housed inspacious buildings of their own, these centres have been duly recognized by the government of Maharashtra, and are proudly contributing their mite to society.

On Swamiji's sad demise, his disciples, Swami Shree Hariprasaddasji and Swami Shree ChaitanyaSwarupdasji carried on with their guru's mission to realize his dreams. They came in contact with Late Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, Chairman, Atul Products Ltd. Atul, who was instrumental in arranging 28 acres of land along the National Highway No.8 at KillaPardi, where an International Education Centre was set up in the year 1976 under the management of the Shreevallabh Seva Kendra (a duly registered Public Trust Act, 1950).
